silent barbarian
There is plenty to notice about Laerderos - from his glimmering scales and his unmatched bravery to his prowess in a battle and propensity to wear the skull of a fallen skydancer overtop his own face. He is a fine example of dragonkind's strength and ability. But the single most curious thing about it is: he doesn't speak.
There's dozens of theories about his silence. In one, he never learned. In another he was mauled into it. Perhaps it is a religiously-bound eccentricity? In yet another still he is simply choosing silence. Whatever the reason, Laerderos is purely silent. No dragon yet has heard him speak, though from the bow of his chest and the width of his withers, it is no doubt he does so in a deep and rumbling voice.
Still, for all his strangeness among his peers, he is not immune to the sway of a heart and lately his has drawn him to Sriyaaj - a small, dutiful dragoness of great talent and power but little patience for failed conversation and awkward long silences shared with brutish males.
