Biography
Finally you get to an interesting room: It's labeled "BURSAR" in large, black letters, and you can see the corner of a sheet of paper sticking out from under the waterproof seal on the door. Unfortunately, nothing you do seems to make an impression on the reinforced steel door, and its lightningtech lock isn't powered anymore, rendering it impossible to cycle. The folks who lived here apparently took their record keeping seriously.
_____________________________________________________________________
Chief mundane-record-keeper for the group. She writes down the daily happenings, so that if anything goes wrong they'll know when it started.
Best explained by a letter she wrote to her mama:
A blue scroll with a stripy purple ribbon
It appears with a spark and a crackle right in the middle of the lair, flickering in and out of existence a few times before falling into the fresh layer of snow. A little hasty digging and a dusting off reveal that only the outside is blue - it's some sort of iridescent foil coating. The ribbon is finely woven and very even; probably made of some fiber hard to get in the southern icefield.
In large, unnaturally even writing, it says:
DEAR MOTHER-LARITA AND FATHER-VETHANIEL,
IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I WROTE TO YOU, SINCE THE DEFT-PAWED DRAGONS HERE ARE TOO BUSY TO TAKE DICTATIONS. I DO NOT MIND, HOWEVER, SINCE LAIR-BROTHER-ANGUILLE MADE ME MY VERY OWN TYPER-WRITER, SO I CAN PRESS BUTTONS TO MAKE THE WORDS APPEAR. HERE IS A PICTURE I TOOK WITH ONE OF PROGENITOR-TARANAU'S IMAGE-MAKERS
[picture]
I HAVE A HANDSOME GREEN BANDANNA NOW, AND A SNAIL-FAMILIAR; ALTHOUGH I AM SAD TO REPORT THAT I HAVE, AS YET, NO MATE, FOR ALL THAT MY DEN-COMPANIONS PRAISE MY BLUE SHINE. EVERY TIME PROGENITOR-MELLT THINKS SHE HAS FOUND ONE, HE FINDS HIS COLORS BETTER WITH ANOTHER LADY! NO MATTER, I WILL GET ONE EVENTUALLY.
I AM SENDING YOU SOME MUSHROOMS I FOUND ON THE EDGE OF FIRE-TERRITORY YESTERDAY. PERHAPS YOU CAN USE THEM TO MAKE A WARM SOUP ON A COLD WINTER'S DAY!
LOVE,
YOUR DAUGHTER, SUGARPLUM
(My sincerest apologies for the capital letters. I have yet to find a shift key that can properly withstand a snapper's mighty claws - Anguille of the 6362nd Ruin Dig.)
