Blizzard is an old dragon that was one of the first dragons to join Clan Spinelside. He was the first wildclaw the clan had ever met, and it took some time for the clan to get used to Blizzard and his ways. He was unlike anything the clan had seen or were used to. The clan leaders, Cassius and Ada, were used to the indoors, rules, and their technology. So when Blizzard came in, a whole new world was opened up to them, and they weren't sure they liked it at first.
Blizzard wandered into Clan Spinelside's territory and Cassius invited him to join them. He casually agreed to join, but he never truly moved into the lair. Instead, he stayed outdoors, making himself a little shelter just for himself. Cassius and some others have attempted to convince Blizzard to move into the lair, as it just seemed easier to live that way, but Blizzard always calmly turned it down. In turn, Blizzard always invited Cassius and Ada to join him in admiring the wilds and spirit of the Starfall Isles, but Cassius and Ada would turn the offer down, as the couple were too busy with their own problems and research to just wander into the wilds and enjoy the "spirit of the wild" or whatever. The main conflict between the leaders and Blizzard arose when Cassius came up with a horrible plan to use a crystal arcane weapon to threaten, and potentially destroy, the other flights. Blizzard went against Cassius's plan and tried to talk sense into him, but was ultimately ignored and locked out of the lair, should Blizzard try to put a stop to Cassius's plans. Blizzard, bitter about what happened, hoped Cassius's plan would fail just so the fool would learn a thing or two. It did fail, but in the worst way. The weapon imploded, killing many clan members, including the leaders' own child. Blizzard knew it was karma at work, but after seeing a change in Cassius and Ada, he went to them and forgave them, with intentions to stay with them during the hard times. Blizzard himself felt much guilt for not trying harder in stopping this tragedy, and thus decided to wear a mask out of shame. The idea of looking upon his face, knowing what he neglected to do, was nauseating. Blizzard was soon appointed a position in The Council upon The Council's creation, but he still stayed in his little shelter in the wilds, and this time Cassius and Ada were perfectly fine with his decision. Blizzard has a solemn calmness to his demeanor, and distracts himself daily with hunting and mediation. Recently he has adopted an apprentice named Mao, who helps Blizzard feel less lonely during his darker days. |
