SURVIVOR
These are some Journal entries from before Hellwell Undercroft was created;
Day 1 of the Outbreak
It was just a normal day in Scarred Wasteland, nothing extraordinary. MysticMoonlight and I were just talking about figuring a way to trick the soil of this place to support life since practically nothing grows here. Some sort of enchantment or something. To help make the price of plants not so ridiculously expensive around here. Anyways that doesn't mater. Suddenly Vital, who was on patrol, comes in practically out of breath screaming something about an outbreak. We wait for her to catch her breath. Apparently some scientist in the Quarantine Zone #128 stired up something vial that causes its victims to crave dragon flesh and go on a frenzy to get it. Victims do not care about pain and will continue to fight until unable to do so. After a bit of discussion, we gear up and go out on are designated errands. Mine is to search and rescue more vulnerable dragons that can't fly like hatchlings. I find a big nest not far from the contamination site, eggs all gone; smashed or broken. It's a devastating site. I hear a faint scraping of scales on the other side of the cave. I find a single baby dragon with terror filled eyes hiding behind a rock. I sooth the poor thing and put them in my sack. I find another one in a mushroom tree and another one sobbing over their mothers body. Torn to shreds she is... I'll spare you the gory details. Surprisingly few bodies lie around, that should have been a warning sign but not much surprises me anymore because I was left to fend for myself as a kid. Anyways after a bit, I was done searching and was about to take off when one of the dam bodies grabbed my leg! I turned around, taking a second to register the dragons eyes or the lack of them, and sliced the arm off. I started to fly over the massive brambles between Plague mother and Earshakers domain when I noticed how unusually quiet it was. It was foggy but there should have been a few vultures or something! I flew over a particularly large bramble, then it started to drizzle... but the water had a strange texture and was red. Confused I looked up and saw a massive tanglement of undead limbs and bodies assembling into an undead Emperor! I hightailed out of there determined to get too Opals Oasis before it did and get some backup!
Many entries later...
Day 100 of the Outbreak
I look in the reflective pond of Opals Oasis and barely recognize myself. This disease really took a toll on me; making me look like the walking dead but don't fret! I was administered the cure. We have many refugies here so its a bit crowded but I don't mind. I'm just glad were safe. I'm taking a break from fighting as I heal what I can from this dreadful disease. When I fly back home, I'm going to help build a safe haven of bones using the defeated Undead Emperors head and body. I think I'll call the place Hellwell Undercroft.
