Marina is a shadowborne knucker dragon, or at least partly knucker (drawing of my personal design for her down below), who dwelled deep within the veins of the world's crust.
Born with unusual features for a member of a commune who's known to stay within the dark, cool crags of the earth, she was seen as an other. Her family was one dedicated to the under-crust villages, being cold and detached to others outside their commune.
The tale goes one of her parents were... unfaithful, and lingered far beyond the sheltered caves and had a brief encounter with another dragon; that which resulted in the whelp that is now known as Marina.
She was not originally named so, but has placed herself into the outside world as such.
As a child she seeked to visit other places, snatching whatever maps she had to look over curiously at their content, even if this dissatisfied her parents and soured her relationship with her family and others within the commune.
One night, as a naïve and rebellious teen she announced her departure, which she received hisses and angry lecturing. Of course, she was not listening and bounded outside to meet the blinding brilliant sunlight. It overwhelmed her as she had not witnessed anything so bright beyond the glow worms which vibrantly caked the walls and ceilings of her previous home, yet once her eyes adjusted she took in the vast land far bigger than she had ever known.
Marina grew, nomadically wandering and half of the time fighting off or being taken aback by new sights and experiences which she was never witness to before. She fought off at least three wolves just to look at a half consumed corpse of a deer.
Nobody, not even herself, knows why she did that.
She eventually found herself as an adult becoming a fisherman of the surface world, discovering hydrokenisis and using it to help her manipulate her surroundings to reach high speeds to collect her daily catch.
