The daughter of an Alpha of an allied clan, Lether was sent with Svanhilde and Germond to keep tabs on the "impure," but often finds herself conflicted about how things are playing out. The outcast Gaolers, far removed from their heritage, outnumber Saija and the Ice Gaolers by more than double. Beyond that, not a one of them seems to know, or care, where it is they came from. She is troubled by this, having strayed far from home at the side of Saija; in her fortress as a hatchling, she never would have imagined finding such "modern" versions of her kind. She recognizes in them a desire to protect and contain, to hunt down the dark of the world... but their worldliness rubs her fur in all the wrong ways. Even so, she is much more apt to agree with Germond on their treatment than Saija and Svanhilde. She grew up among many Gaolers of differing stripes who eventually heard the calling of the Warden, and she knows they were just as proud and fierce as any born in Ice.
