Biography

GENERAL OVERVIEW
Clan Devium Animarum has made their lair in the Colonnades of Antiquity, and have tried to utilize the space provided in their city block, both vertically and horizontally, as effectively as possible. To do this, they have split the lair into five districts, one central, and one centered on each corner that spreads out to the central district and the wide primary looping path, from with smaller paths split off and go into each of the districts. Like all lairs in the Colonnades, it's border is split by a low wall, more for convenience of ensuring that other clans don't cross into land not allotted to them than to prevent entry, though the clan has an official open gate that is intended to be used to enter the lair.

THE LAKE DISTRICT
The central district is an artificially made lake (though to imperials, guardians, and ridgebacks, it's more of a pond), and thanks to the water around it, there is a park area with soft grass, and a few pine trees planted to remind the clan of their former home in the Tangled Wood, as well as to provide shade to beat the heat. A stage for performers, both in clan and out of clan, to use is partially built over the water, and large sails of fabric are draped over parts of the area to offer even more shade. Carefully maintained fire pits keep the area warm during the chilly evenings, and are set up to prevent the risk of a fire spreading on the grounds.

THE OFFICIAL DISTRICT
On the right side from the gate, the clan's official buildings are placed together. Both the clan's lair hall and library's have some access to the public, though not all areas within those buildings are accessible to visitors. The district also houses the clan's nesting hollow, where all nests and eggs are stored and cared for, under the watchful gaze of Yin, and the hollow has a spot for visitors to drop off their children where they can be watched closely and can play; and access to the clan's shrines to the Eleven. Additionally, the district houses access to the clan's hoard and hibernation hall, a messenger roost which houses the base of operations for the clan's scouts, cartographers, and mail sorters.

THE ESSENTIAL DISTRICT
Just past the official district is the zone that the clan has placed most of their essential services; a forge, training ground for guards and fighters, an alchemy lab, construction yard, and a pasture that houses the clan's many animals and offers to watch visitors pets should it be needed. The forge sells armors and weapons, and offers mending services, though visitors typically have to pay a fair bit for the service; and likewise, the alchemy lab will offer to sell materials and goods.

THE RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT
The only one with strict rules about non-residents of the clan entering, is the home to the majority of the clan's homes, though a number of residents do live in the workplaces as well. Made of a mixture of new and old buildings, many stacked atop each other with precarious balance and planning, and careful maintenance. Many buildings have basements or cellars, and some merely have an entrance room that leads down to the real house which is entirely underground. Across the paths between buildings, more sails of fabric are draped to create shade, and some smaller dragons have used the thick fabric layers to make smaller personal homes that they don't need to share with others. Most families live together, and there are a few communal houses, similar to the Mantle's Rest inn, exclusively offering housing to those in the clan. Typically a quieter district, to allow for anyone sleeping to get undisturbed rest.

THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT
From the left on the gate, the clan's primary shopping district is settled, a cramped area with twisting paths around the various buildings and tents that are settled there. With a few notable large buildings, most of the buildings are barely large enough to hold two imperials, and a good number of them have dedicated basements or cellars to try to get any extra space possible. Easily the loudest of the districts, especially at the end closest to the gate, this district sees the most visitors and is typically quite crowded; and due to the amount of visitors, tends to have at least three guards posted in the area to ensure that no fights occur. Scattered around the rest of the plaza are the following shops: JJ's Scroll Stand, The Glowing Garden, Foxy Dye Jobs, Patchy Apparel, Hydra Jewels, Iris' Fortune, and The Candy Shop.

THE MANTLE'S REST
Currently run and tended to by May and Val, the Mantle's Rest is a long 'L' shaped building with multiple floors, and rooms of all sizes. The larger rooms are on the ground level, and the next two stories slowly get smaller, large enough for the innkeepers to keep the rooms clean but not too big to make a fae or veilspun feel out of place.

THE SHADY TAVERN
The actual building of the tavern is a long 'L' shaped building that follows the corner, which holds the kitchen, cellars for storing drinks, and housing for a few residents; and most of the tavern is open aired with pillars that sails of fabric can be draped from. The Shady Tavern is open at all hours.

THE MISTY GROVE CAFE
A cat cafe run by Artemisian, offering the coatl's home-brewed teas and small snacks, and a calming atmosphere compared to the busy hustle and loud crowd of the Shady Tavern. Visitors must put up with Artemisian's nine cats, who all have free reign of the underground room, and the many (cat safe) plants which are carefully tended to.
THE CANDY SHOP
A small stand set near the Shady Tavern, the Candy Shop sales unmarked candies of its owner's creation. The candies are all homemade, and of various recipes, and it's deliberately a gamble of if someone will buy good or bad tasting candy.

HYDRA JEWELS
Hydra Jewels is run by Glory and Alloy, a pair of aberrations. They offer the services of mending jewelry, appraising gemstones, and selling their own accessories. Glory is the one who does most of the bargaining and advertising, while Alloy is the one who makes and mends jewelry. As the two share a body, it is run with limited hours.
IRIS' FORTUNE
Set in a colorful tent, Iris' Fortune is run by Iris and her son, Abu. Iris offers card readings and Abu offers crystal ball readings. The prices are a bit high, though they offer discounts on certain holidays.

JJ'S SCROLL STAND
JJ's Scroll Stand, or Jelly and Jam's Scroll Stand, is a small building overfull of scrolls and books. The siblings buy and sell books and scrolls, and will agree to fair trades; due to limited staffing, the store is only opened for limited hours.
FOXY DYE JOBS
Foxy Dye Jobs is a hair styling and dyeing salon, run by siblings Jupiter and Juno. A small building, it is large enough to have two larger dragons in it. Due to the limited staffing, it works on an appointment based system.

THE GLOWING GARDEN
A garden center and flower stand, The Glowing Garden is a semi-large building with a fenced off yard to extend their space for their wares. Run by Rose, Petunia, and Flamingo, and further more employing Mimi and Hibiscus, the shop is opened at all hours of the day.
PATCHY APPAREL
One of the oldest establishments of the clan, Patchy Apparel is run by Quilt and Discord, with additional help from Isolde. Selling clothing, offering mending services, and offering the service of mending the patches of dragons with the patchwork or stitched genes. The later is done by appointment.

THE TOY BOX
A toy shop run by Drizzle, the Toy Box sells toys of all sorts and offers a repair service for any broken toys. In a somewhat small and cozy shop underground, it's advised that larger visitors have a smaller friend go in and handle the shopping and repair requests.
BOX OF TRICKS
A trick and scheme shop set up by Flint, Steel, and Cloud, the trio offer their services as pranksters, both in providing means to trick others and offering to do pranks for someone else. Set up in a colorful tent with fog machines to draw in customers.

Thrift's Market
Run by Thrift, the basement based business is set up and stocked with whatever miscellaneous objects the clan has around; as well as whatever is donated to him by visitors. Selling the objects in his position for low prices, he's mostly trying to help the clan empty their hoard of unused items, though the small income that he makes from it certianly helps.

Either from allied group, acting as secondary homes to Clan Devium Animarum, or otherwise relating to the clan; there is a few locations, or travelling objects, that are important to the clan.

THE WINGED MENACE
A large ship used by the Crooked Beak pirates as their vessel, Clan Devium Animarum has an alliance and deal with the pirate crew. While the ship cannot dock at the lair itself, the crew has a home within the lair, with the ship safely tucked away in a cove.

STONE BANDITS CAMP
A moving camp that belongs to a group of bandit obelisks, who the clan has had some encounters with, and is trying to monitor. Constantly moving to follow the trains that run through Dragonhome, its never too far from the tracks, and normally quite well hidden and protected.
THE SHADOW ISLES CIRCUS
A circus that travels primarily in the Tangled Wood, with occasional stops in the Colonnades of Antiquity and Wandering Contagion; run by Viego and Isolde. While they no longer live with the clan itself, the troupe is counted as part of their ranks.
