"If I follow you will you light my way home?" Aureus is a very small dragon with a very large heart. He keeps to himself mostly as he didn't have many friends in the early days of the clan, but as it grew, he developed stronger relationships with the other faes of the clan. Aureus is very laid back, calm and someone who quite enjoys settling down with a good book. He is also, and extreme introvert. While he can be very outgoing when Cailume is around, confront him alone and he will barely make a squeak. Aureus is an amazing scribe, with a thing for words and perfect grammar. His main job is to write down the history of the clan from various stories the dragons of this clan tell him. He also takes care of other dragons bookkeeping and writing work related to their arts, and specifically can be found in the ambassador's office when off duty. While curious, he isn't the type to go and probe, so anything you tell him to write down is written down in confidence, though whether that extends to crimes he isn't sure. No one's ever confessed a murder to him so far, so it is a bridge to cross when he gets there. Though Aureus has spent the majority of his life in the Silverwind clan, he has taken some trips to the Lightweaver's Library to archive information he has gathered on traditional wind arts and pick up new information that interests him. He's not big into academic scholarship, but he does enjoy reading the occasional scholarly paper. |
A Little Love Story
Aureus has been present in the clan for over a year now, but he never found anyone who he enjoyed to be around, someone right for him. For an entire month he matured, worked hard as the clan scribe, then she came.
The beautiful imperial whose wings were like clouds and whose scales shone like the summer sky. He had never experienced love before, but this, this was love at first sight. The only problem was he was about the size of her head, and she was still growing.
The months passed and she bonded with a male imperial whom she had two clutches with. The imperial left suddenly one day, he had gone out fishing for their hatchlings, but he never came back and it was discovered he had been ambushed by harpies. The tiny fae tried to give her comfort as she mourned his passing, but she began to spend more and more of her days with another imperial instead. Months passed and they had many hatchlings together and that flicker of hope for Lux had began to wither and die as she continued to move away from him after they had a brief time of bonding.
Then one day the male ran off with another female, and the sky imperial was left with a broken heart once again and tears that ran like rain down her fluid scales. The little fae couldn't bear to see her in such a state, but what could he do? He did not have the courage to ask her again after having his heart crushed so many times.
So he did what he could do best. He wrote her a little letter, hoping to clear the clouds away and dry up the rain. The letter was short, but Cailume knew who had written it, remembering him for many months ago.
Cailume found him up a stalk of bamboo, waiting with a white lily, larger than himself in his paws. No words needed to be spoken there, it was an unspoken bond between them that grew from the start, like the preserved flower that Cailume still holds dear to her today.
