Achlys

His dear love was gone.

He knew not where she disappeared, only that one night they were expecting a clutch, and the next she was gone with one egg in her place.

Nova and Yin were blessings during this time. They took over many of the roles that his love would have in caring for his son. A part of him soared when Nova had told him that the egg would give him a son, happy that he would at least have some family despite the horrid situation.

Aerwyna, he named his son.

"Achlys." Nova enters his little section of the lair, speaking softly. She looks tired, but lightly smiles. "Aerwyna won't rest. He insists his father tell him a story before he sleeps."

That gets a laugh out of him. "Of course. I'll go tell him one now." He stops before he's fully out the door. "Ah, before I forget, how are Freyr and Boisduvalii doing?"

Nova sighs. "Freyr's condition is unlike any I've seen. I can't seem to discern much about it, but there aren't many I would trust to help him."

"Hm, well perhaps... we can go find Apus." At Nova's questioning look, he clarifies. "Apus is a dear friend of mine. She's an informant who may have knowledge on this curse. Or at the very least, know someone who does."

Nova hums for a moment. "I will discuss this with Dimas. For now, go see your son." She walks away, head slightly lowered in thought.

"Father!" A voice whines. Down the other side of the hall is his son, peeking out from the nursery.

Achlys chuckles. "Don't worry Aerwyn, you'll get your story."
