Urbanus

Miss Liliana Byvitch Rage Scramaul lived on the edges of the forest. The village chief only allowed her to stay so close because of her knowledge about herbs and medicine stuff and other stuff. She was a tall and menacing bonepicker gryphon, with a gleaming sharp beak and flinty, hungry eyes.

She was still the safest option Urbanus had right now.

He knocked twice on the door.

“Miss Lili?” he asked tremblingly, hugging his toy closer to himself. “It’s me. Urbanus.”

The door opened. “Oh, gosh, what’s happened to you?”

Behind her, Empyr blinked, her dark feathers wet, most likely from a late shower. “Wha’s wrong, Urba?”

“I didn’t know where else to go,” Urbanus sniffled. If Miss Lili turned him away now… he didn’t know what he’d do. He really hoped she didn’t.

Just the thought of it sent tears running down his eyes, and he desperately held back the bawling that wanted to come out.

“Oh, dear,” Miss Lili sighed, and hope lit up his heart. “Come in for now. You can tell me the rest later. Let’s get dried up and clean, alright?”

Like this, Miss Lili didn’t seem that scary at all.
