Ghost. Demon. Skin-walker. Doppelganger. Boogeymonster. Casimir has heard them all. And honestly? Her favourite is still “Oh no, it’s her.” That one never gets old, no matter how many times or how many ways she hears it. Sometimes it’s in an exasperated tone. Sometimes it’s a scream of pure terror. However it’s said, it’s music to her ears.

Casimir doesn’t try to be such a problem. She just likes having fun, and has pretty poor impulse control. Oh, and killing people. She does that a lot too. That actually might be the sticking point for most folk. She’s naturally curious, and so she likes to experiment with the world around her to see what happens when she takes a particular action. Most of the time that action is killing people, but hey. You have to repeat your experiment several times to be sure your results are accurate, right?

Killing people isn’t her only hobby though. Heaven forbid she become a one trick pony like that. She likes to play pranks as well, some more benign than others. She’s heard of her reputation as a monster under the bed that mothers warn their children about to make them behave, and sometimes she likes to find a kid that’s obviously being a brat, or bullying others, and putting the fear of various gods into them. Other times she plays simple tricks, like hiding people’s belongings in impossible to reach locations, or drawing on a sleeping person’s face with markers. She almost always sticks around to see the result of her pranks, as the victim’s reaction is most of the fun! Letting them see her, just for a second, so that they can add to the numerous tales about her is just a bonus; a nice little treat to stroke her ego.

And sometimes she spices up her assassinations by using elaborate, but deadly, pranks to finish her victims off. It only adds to her reputation as some kind of murderous, mischievous demon, which is fine by her.

Then, after a long day’s wet work, when she’s ready to unwind, she turns to her one other passion: books. Anyone who knew her well (not that it was a very long list) might be surprised to learn that she was a bit of a bookworm, but Casimir’s curiosity spread to more than just seeing what happens when she kills people. While it’s practical to be well-versed in several subjects when your line of work involves murder, Casimir also just loves learning for the sake of learning. She’s picked up everything from knitting to computer coding, how to make a quiche to how to grow a vegetable garden. And somehow, every time she learns something new, it just makes her yearn to know more. She has a library card for almost every city she’s passed through, and she’s used all of them at least twice. Librarians, she’s decided, are the best people and she refuses to kill or prank one unless the pay is insanely good. Thankfully it has never come up.

Killing and pranking by day, reading and researching by night, Casimir is having fun and enjoying living her life on her own terms, and has no regrets. She goes to bed each night with a grin on her face, and sleeps like a baby.
