Biography
"Eye spy with my little eyes~" she began, peering around, looking for something in particular. "Something beginning with E!!"
The crafty blue dragon backflipped in the air with a giggle, her graceful serpentesque form curling before bobbing down in front of the little hatchlings. "Remember, eye know what you think. You have to be smart. An E for two-thousand gold pieces? Why, that's a steal, but you have but one chance to obtain it. Come on little ones, guess!"
The hatchlings, who were so confident before, hesitated. The older dragon was right. Two-thousand gold pieces was a handsome sum for the start of their hoards. No way would she go with something so... punny for her answer.
Or would she?
Oculaeya was just that kind of person. A mother before her time, at least in terms of sense of humour.
But they also knew she was smart. Devilishly so. She was the one who taught them after all. She taught all the hatchlings of the clan! Maybe she knew that they would think that, using it as mere bait. She'd done something like that before...!
They simply didn't know.
Oculaeya gave nothing away, humming softly as she flitted through the air, watching the hatchlings ruminate over it.
It was only a matter of time. Stick to their guns or break? It was a nice little test for her students. The incentive of treasure, alongside the commonality of her potential choice posing as a litmus test for their ability to make confident decisions.
At the end of the day, what she wanted to see was their decision process, and, of course, how quickly they could act. The clan would need them, for it was still early days. Many threats lurked from outside and within, and for that, they needed decisive youth.
She waited patiently and soon the answers came. She smiled.
"Eye think you were right. You were right. And you were wrong!" she cackled delightfully at the children, giving each of them two-thousand gold. When they asked why even the ones who guessed wrongly were rewarded she simply giggled and responded.
"If you had the foresight you would be able to see that eye am going to keep that to meyeself."
