B I O G R A P H Y

______ Even as a hatchling, Eya always had more of an affinity for fire than for wind. She would never admit it, but the concept of being airborne with nothing to stop you from plummeting to your demise save for a pair of thin leathery appendages terrified her. But the forge never cared for what she was or wasn't supposed to be capable of. Eventually her love for the flame grew to an obsession. Most people avoided or tolerated her at best, which was fine by her. More time for the forge. All was well until the Twisting Crescendo kicked up a particularly nasty maelstrom that wrenched her away from her forge and cast her out of the territory altogether. She was forced to fly then, but try as she might she couldn't make headway against the storm. So she flew with it, and glided for days and nights, terrified of making an attempt to land. If the Windsinger wanted to teach her to love the air instead of fear it, he would have to try harder.

Finally she crash-landed on the far shores of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, and there she stayed, relishing in sweet Terra Firma. While she was there she hit it off with an imperial named Pellucid, who was making her annual pilgrimage to her homeland. Eya asked where the imperial came from, and was delighted to hear of a jungle tree that welcomed all manner of life. Eya asked if she could visit and Pellucid agreed. Eya made herself quite at home in a dry burrow a little ways away from any burnable plant life.

Then, in the dark of night, the dragons living in the kapok tree heard the sound of metal on metal and a bloodcurdling scream. Rushing to her aid, Calhoun and Ferrous discovered the guardian collapsed in a heap in front of her forge. Upon turning her over, the guards recoiled in shock; Eya had fused part of the forge to her skin. She coughed and grinned up at them. "See if anyone tries to take me away from my forge now."
