RASHMI

—————————-

Sunniva is honored among her kin. She was born from the First Tree, and was raised and taught largely by the Elders, making her quite influential within the Solis Occasus community. Her eyes are brown instead of the typical golden hue, making her a sort of oddity amongst her own kind, though they are more fascinated than put off by this.

Sunniva is the first Solis Occasus in a long while to have had contact with outsiders. She was approached by Hennamae and a party of others on a hunting trek, and quickly made their acquaintance. After this initial meeting, Sunniva and Hennamae (usually accompanied by Brenasces) would often be found in deep conversation at the edge of the greatest redwood grove. Soon enough, Sunniva began bringing others of her kind to these meetings, introducing her many kin to her fast-growing friends.

One special early summer afternoon, with the sun well on its way to reaching the horizon, Sunniva and another, very old member of the Solis Occasus invited the two young leaders to witness their sunset celebration. Knowing the weight and significance of this offer, Hennamae and Brenasces accepted solemnly, and followed them into the depths of the grand grove. There, they ascended a particularly massive redwood and found themselves surrounded by a plethora of shifting, light-dappled hides. There was an air of exultant anticipation, and as Sunniva approached Hennamae and Brenasces with two glowing cones from the massive tree, they felt the same joy infecting them, making their hearts beat faster.

Sunniva guided the pair through the festivities that evening, explaining that this was a day of remembrance for the Solis Occasus, of celebration of the legendary sprouting of this largest, first tree that they had gathered at. She informed them that after much discussion and conference, they had been chosen to be accepted as Occasus kin, and that if they so desired, they could come and go freely within the walks of the bountiful forest, to be closer to the "family". In addition, the Occasus could provide further magical protection than what the Singing Hollow clan already had--Sunniva had heard Henna and Bren's worries about the Shade from the nearby Hewn City affecting their clan. The two leaders eagerly accepted, and were overwhelmed with gratitude that the tight-knit community of the Occasus would so willingly accept them as honorary members.

Sunniva visited the Singing Hollow clan regularly in the months following, occasionally bringing other curious Occasus to visit or even to stay in the camp. They were kind visitors, endlessly asking questions and sharing stories of all sorts with the adults and hatchlings alike, as well as renewing the magical protections around the borders of the clan's territory. Sunniva herself became fast friends with Anahita and Abalonis, the ambassadors of the Singing Hollow clan, as well as Eonia. They often would meet beneath the Gate cedars, admiring the hanging decorations and exchanging stories.

These meetings would usually turn into lessons as well, with dragonets eager to hear a new tale and the adults happy to help teach the younglings important skills through story. Sunniva's yarns about the Solis Occasus were most often featured at these times, simply because the dragonets already received lessons from Eonia when the dappled female was not around. The grand imperial didn't mind anyway--in fact, she rather enjoyed hearing new stories herself, and of course the Ambassadors loved to listen to ideas and legends from other groups of dragons as well.

Eventually, Sunniva became such a regular presence in the Singing Hollow and served as such an important connection between the Solis Occasus and the clan that Hennamae and Brenasces invited her to serve as a part of their High Council, which was responsible for making clan-wide decisions and keeping the whole unit functioning smoothly. She graciously accepted, and now spends a large majority of her time living in the Hollow, though she does return to the redwoods.

Storyteller

The Solis Occasus are a mysterious strain of dragon, born from the light patterns on the trunks of the great redwoods closest to the Lightweaver's lair (these trees are sprouted from seeds that originated in the Nature territory, planted by ancient generations of dragons, now lost to time. They are thought to have been a gift of some sort for the goddess of Light). Their exact time of origin is unknown, but they are recognized for coming into being when the light of the sunset hits the grand trees in just the right manner. It should be noted that the recorded populations of Occasus have only come from and seem to continue their generation from these trees' light and shadow exclusively. Because they are created only from the trees in proximity to the Lightweaver's home, they are naturally blessed with light magic that is stronger than the common population, though they are at their strongest (magically, physically, emotionally, intellectually) around sunset and dusk.
