20153.png Raith clutched her satchel as she rushed to class. Late again. Bursting through the wooden doors she was met with plumes of green smoke, strange smells and the disapproving stares of her peers.

Head held low, she made her way to her desk. It wasn't as if she had overslept or anything, she had just been working on her own potions. Someday she would make a breakthrough and rise to the top of this institution.

It had been hard for Raith to get into this school, dedicated to making potions and various elixirs using plants, magic, gemstones and various other materials. Her family was poor and her mother wanted her to become a seamstress like her. But Raith's heart lay elsewhere.

She had only been chosen because she had somehow made a 'potion of death' when she was just a hatchling. Luckily it hadn't killed anyone but the dragons that had to be called in to dispose of it were impressed by her talent.

Now she spent half her time studying from textbooks or in classrooms, and the other half working on her own experiments.

And, although she would never tell anyone, her real goal was to make a potion that would impress the Tidelord so much she would be able to bring her siblings back.
