Grumblecorn has never been considered the brightest Snapper. He always means well, but sometimes his plans and ideas don't always work out as expected. Grumbles does have his moments though; his intelligence shines through when it comes to helping hatchlings. He may not know the best place to scavenge for treasure, or ancient dragon lore, but he's always who the hatchlings and young dragons know they can rely on for advice on growing up and problems with their friends.

Every night, or at least when they all are pretty sure it's night because of the constant darkness of their home, Grumblecorn gathers all the hatchlings and young dragons around to tell them stories. Sometimes he'll speak of where he comes from and his hatchling memories, sometimes he'll make up a fiction story on the spot, and sometimes he'll tell stories about the other older members of the clan. He always makes sure to give the young of the clan lessons that will make them think and form their own ideas, so whether they decide to stay, or whether they decide to leave and forge their own path, they'll always know who they are, and where they come from.
