______ A fickle dragon with talented claws and mind, Shakudō can create works of art should he choose to put his heart into it. Though his namesake denotes him to be a tranquil person, this Pearlcatcher can be far from that at times, especially when the things he holds dear are threatened. Questioning his ideas can also lead to heated debate, but Shakudō can be surprisingly collected when faced with a well-thought out argument. His long life has led him to be more forgiving of others, no matter what his outward countenance may be, those who know him best understand that he does not hold any true grudges.

______ While Shakudō may flit from job to job, he is still a chef and food enthusiast at heart, making him prone to ire at others who waste food or consume food rations in his presence. An insult to culinary cuisine, or so he claims. Though Shakudō may seem curt and ill-tempered to strangers, he opens up to those who share the same interests as he; especially dragons who are passionate about cooking and compassionate towards animals. To him, he sees animals as something to be respectful and thankful for, for many an ingredient would not be available without said being. Shakudō's willingness to try anything and delve into taboo practices for the sake of a 'potential dish' makes him an amoral person and the perfect conversation partner for certain dragons with a more... peculiar taste.

______ This being said, this Pearlcatcher prefers testing his creations out on himself than giving it to some unknowing soul, so others can rest assured that Shakudō's dishes are safe... to some degree. Woe betide those who get on his bad side.

______ From a young age, Shakudō was often praised for being a quick learner, picking up all sorts of new skills with ease. There was a downside to it, for his talent made everything seem like a cakewalk; depriving him of the challenge that was supposed to come along with it. Predictably, the Pearlcatcher soon became disinterested in his tasks, seeing as they were far from mind-stimulating. But he bore with it, and took to pranking others in his pastime when the boredom became too much.

______ He chose to leave his old home behind once he came of age, seeking something, anything - to bring back excitement in his dull life. One of his more memorable jobs was becoming a blacksmith's apprentice, where he melted ore and learnt metallurgy deep within the underground caverns of Ashfall Wastes. Most had expected him to falter; being a dragon born from the cool caverns of the Shadowbinder's domain and all. But Shakudō proved them wrong, and his stay there lauded him with fame and treasure aplenty for his fine crafts. Still a teen with no responsibilities, the Pearlcatcher found himself spending mountain loads of treasure on his appearance, scattering his colours every so often. Some speculate that Shakudō had changed his colour scheme more then ten times; alongside his apparel and genes - a testament to his riches.

______ Fame and wealth was nothing new to the Pearlcatcher, and Shakudō grew bored of all the attention and hubbub that followed in his wake. With a quick usage of a scatter scroll and a cloak - the Pearlcatcher easily slipped out from Ashfall Wastes and his presence soon died down to mere rumours. It is said that his tools still remain there till this day, awaiting his return. Sometimes, the sizzling of molten metal can still be heard at certain times of the year, but few dare to find out for themselves...

During his travels, Shakudō learnt many things; how to hunt, gather roots, obtain edible berries and foliage and most importantly, making full use of the resources he had. This, the Pearlcatcher noted as he came to the realization of his newfound love for food, was better than any lecture he had learnt within the confines of a 'safe space'. Maybe following your dreams was not such a bad thing after all. But being self-taught has it downsides. Trail and error could only take you so far, and Shakudō needed a proper teacher to be able to advice him - one that had the same interests as him.

He wandered aimlessly for awhile, and stumbled upon a pair of young hatchlings one fine day as he was out gathering food. Oddly enough, the duo were not of the same species, yet they were closer than blood-kin. Intrigued by them and their fearless attitude to him, Shakudō decided to care for them. The young birds thrived under his care, and the male found himself content with their presence alone; diminishing his need for the company of others. Weeks pass, and his bird companions are now adults, and Shakudō expects them were to leave him to find their mates. He is pleasantly surprised when both avians choose to stay by his side, and their melodious tunes follows him into his dreams.

Shakudō finds a new home in the Sea of a Thousand Currents. It is an interesting prospect he never considered, but seeing the prosperity of others and their joy - he longs to have such a thing - and accepts. Their-his- leader is a masked Pearlcatcher who wears a strange necklet of silver and ruby.

Living with other dragons is an interesting experience. He still has no patience for the majority, but exceptions are made to those who are truly interested in his craft or accepting of his ideals. Being the head chef there, Shakudō is often tasked with the challenge of creating new dishes, freshening up the menu and ensuring that the food parlour was always stocked. It is a challenge he gladly accepts, and his bird companions chirrup their approval as they flit around his being, bright-eyed and encouraging. Many find it strange that Shakudō does not mind the ceaseless chattering of his bird companions, but if one paid proper attention to the avians' words, they would realize that the birds were imparting information on everything around them. Perhaps that is why the Pearlcatcher seems so well-versed and knowing? But the Pearlcatcher is not one to tattle on others' secrets, so in turn, they keep silent about his.

Occasionally, one can find Shakudō journeying across the lands to meet up with old friends and make acquaintances with useful contacts. Of course, the Pearlcatcher always ensures his clan's food stores to be full before leaving, as it would be unfitting of a proper chef to let their fellow dragons starve. During these times, the Pearlcatcher is in his own element, listening and sharing theories and tales of their experiments and findings to other like-minded dragons. Especially with a certain few from the Arcane. Their choice of remaining neutral and acceptance towards his darker intentions was a lovely 'ingredient' in his up-and-coming dish too -

Don't you think?
