DuskGlow has always been a battler from hatchie to adult, and he had to be in the rough wilderness of the Southern Icefields. In the frigid and poor lands of the crags, he hungered for wealth, glory and…something else. That something else was the pull of The Search that every guardian felt and he heeded that call with no hesitation. Selling all of his meager possessions, he boarded a ship to the Sunbeam Ruins, for the lands of warmth and chance of riches in the Arena.

The sailors of the ship called him a good luck dragon for the trip was swift and smooth. The idea of it honored him, and he prayed to the gods his luck would continue into the lands of Light. And it seemed the gods heard his prayers for he became a force in the Arena. No beast or dragon could fell him in battle, and glory and wealth piled high. The masses loved him and he loved the popularity of being the newfound star of the Arena. But still he could feel the call of The Search. He was in the right place, he knew it, but it was not the Arena that made his heart soar.

It was after a long but victorious fight with a Featherback boar that he saw her. A thin and frail skydancer lady, covered terribly in gembond, but to him she was more beautiful and more desirable than all the gold in Light. She had tossed him a single orange hibiscus onto the stage and he grabbed it, thunderstruck with desire. The crowd roared and he was ushered off the stage to the underground pits, still trying to catch a glimpse of her.

But alas, it would seem his luck had run out with that chance meeting. His greedy and unscrupulous manager tricked him into drinking a brew which changed him into a bogsneak. As a bogsneak he was considered a slave, and was sold to highest bidder. A magical citrine pedant kept him obedient to his new masters much to his rage and despair. He was sent back into the Arena, but not use to his new body he lost and lost again. And worse of all, he still felt the pull of The Search and the skydancer he knew was his Charge.

Beaten and scarred, but not defeated, he laid in the cage and was licking his wounds when she came to him. Her gembond had lessened and she looked stronger, but it was her! She had sold everything to purchase and free him, and best of all she loved him. His joy that day was tenfold. Together they made their way to Sea of a Thousand Currents, hoping to make a new start.

The Clan of the Lionfish welcomed the pair, and DuskGlow has become a valuable warrior and trainer. He has become good friends with HydraCoil, another warrior and trainer who has a lust for battle like his own. Together, under the supervision of IceShine, they have started a miniature Arena for entertainment and demonstration purposes. The Arena allows for new exalts and young warriors to fight in a more controlled environment, and older warriors can gain wealth and glory while keeping their abilities sharp.

He still keeps the citrine pedant, a memento from his time as a slave and a reminder to keep on fighting no matter what.
