Biography
paired with Yersenia
Before his transformation, Gav was just like any other dragon working the mines of the Abiding Boneyard - young, dumb, and with something to prove. He spent just as much of his time working as he did joking and laughing with his coworker and best friend Bette, although they were not from the same clan, the two bonded relatively quickly and became very close. However, trajedy was never far behind the young guardian. The land the two dragons worked on was consistently attacked by a rogue imperial who sought to destroy Betta's clan. One day this persisted by dropping a magical poison onto the land in an effort to deter inhabitants, as much as Gav begged his best friend to run, the Guardian knew his charge resided in the land he lived upon and refused to leave.
Sickened by his choice but terrified of a battle he was not involved in, Gav ran for shelter, eventually coming upon a small pocket of the Abiding Wyrmwound that he could hide in. However, as he entered, a dose of the poison followed him. Several months late to his emergence, Gav emerged, his furs having soaked up the poison and turning his once feathery tuffs into tenticles of slime and mucus. Distraught by his own transformation, he suddenly feared for his friend who he abandoned so long ago.
Returning to the mines showed no signs of dragonkind, the entrance and any tools left behind were covered in olive green vines and crimson red flowers, however, just as there were no signs of life - there were no signs of death. Betta was not here, but he was somewhere.
Quickly Gav ran to the spot of Betta's old clan, last he knew it was being decimated by a fight between two Imperials. However, when he arrived the clan seemed to be thriving. New buildings, faces that Betta had never described, laughing and joking with ones that he had. Then he saw him. His body and wings now as pale as the bones that lie underneath the flesh, covered from head to toe in the same vines and flowers that decorated the mines, mushrooms and thorns protrude in patches from his skin. A thick plate emerged from the top of his skull up to his horns, blocking his face, but he was sure it was his best friend. For better, or for worse.
