Silverwing

Uh-oh, looks like this shiny traveller wandered a little too far from his home lair (621782, worddragon), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful!

Silverwing never thought he would have an adventurous urge, but after seeing more of his friends and family in the clan set out on their adventures and watching more travelers join up with them from time to time, he started to wonder if it would be fun after all to set out on a journey.

After mulling it over for quite some time, he decided to ask his mother for advice. She was a wise Obelisk and always seemed to know just what to say when he needed advice.

His mother didn't say a word as he laid out his story. When he was done, she nodded. "It sounds like you need to find yourself."

"Find myself?"

"Yes. You're getting tired of the same routine over and over. It's time for you to go explore."

Silverwing lashed his tail back and forth. "But I may never see my family again!"

"We will always be with you," his mother promised. "No matter how far you travel, the same stars will be above you, the same earth under your claws, and the same water around you." She nuzzled him. "Go, find yourself, and if you never return know that we love you still."

With a sense of finality and bittersweetness in his heart, Silverwing took flight. Somehow, he knew he would never see his children or mate again, but he was also looking forward to his next adventure.



In a moderately sized clan in the realm of fire, he met many colorful friends. He particularly enjoyed the group that referred to themselves as the Wildflowers - a band of dragons who were brightly colored and enjoyed cultivating garden oases in the rich volcanic soil. He befriended a seaweed nautilus, which became his familiar for a time and provided a comforting connection to his home element of water. He later met a shining blue Guardian dragon named Ghostwing, and for a time, they were mates. They had a daughter, who seemed almost the spitting image of her father, called Swiftwing. Perhaps she shall share her father's wandering urge.
