Biography
Balloonzo Funtown
My first kidcore dragon.
Spikes? No, those blue things are crayons.
A charming and bouncy clown.
He was an orphan, stolen from his parents while still within his egg and later rescued from the monster that had nearly crushed his fragile life between its teeth. When he hatched though, the drakes that first laid eyes on him gasped and wrung their hands in exasperation, thinking that perhaps it would have been better if the beast had eaten the small hatchling that crawled out. They didn't see a bright life ready to bring love and joy into a world--they saw a terrible mistake. He had three heads. Three pairs of vibrant eyes stared at them, each set located on a lopsided face with a goofy smile. He wagged his tail, blissfully unaware of the horror he had brought. A mishap of nature. A freak. He was sold to the circus the next day.
Despite a rough upbringing and the fact that everybody rued his existence solely for his features, Balloonzo somehow managed to stay as innocent as the day he had hatched. He was always cheery towards others and kept an optimistic attitude. He hid every time he cried. He folded balloons and made children laugh, threw candy at crowds, fetched popcorn for the others in the circus--anything to make people smile. Anything to receive their affection. But no matter just how much he kept giving, no matter what he did for everyone else, dragons could never see past his three heads. They saw a freak. They saw someone who would suffer his whole life, and that made them uncomfortable. They didn't understand that it wasn't his malformed body causing pain; they didn't realize that the only pain he felt was an internal kind, inflicted from others of his species.
"If I were you, I'd probably kill myself."
"Maybe it would have been better if you had died in the egg."
"You have the stupidest smile."
But Balloonzo didn't kill himself. He didn't die when he was still in his egg, and he continued to smile every day. He lived and found happiness, even when everyone else believed he couldn't. He even gave happiness to others.
You are enough. You were given life for a reason and have a bright future if you choose to go after it; don't let anyone convince you otherwise.
Although Balloonzo's circus closed down, he remained a clown and continued to brighten the lives around him. One of his most famous acts was when he would have amusing arguments with his other heads. He was very skilled at it, despite not actually having another to argue with. He also got into candy making, and he enjoys giving little goodie bags to hatchlings along with their balloon animals.
