Biography
THE TWENTY-THIRD CARVING
Rhona: powerful, mighty
The statue is most interesting, as it seems as if it is rising straight out of the ground.
The pedestal of this statue is one of the more unique. It is not a typical pedestal at all, rather, a grouping of stone, as if the earth beneath had just burst upwards into crumbling, boulder-like shapes. And, out of the rubble, comes the guardian, pulling itself up from the ground below. Her eyes are a sharp yellow, and her wings, most delicately, are created of fiery glass. They are unbroken, and unscratched, birthing upwards from her form as he rises from the ground.
Her rear half is mostly obscured; her tail, rear, and hind legs are still under the rubble. Hanging by the scruff of its young mane from the guardian’s mouth is a cub. Carved, delicately, of granite, its eyes are shut, and its body small, limbs kept into itself tightly. As if it had just hatched a moment before.
Perhaps, one day, this guardian and her cub will burst forth out of the rubble to protect their clan. Though, we should not hope for that. . .
----
Rhona had come to life, shaking free of the granite casing that he'd been born into. He grew from his form as a cub to that of a powerful, adult guardian in the form of a male Obelisk dragon.
