 LORE Akiri was worried about one of her eggs, it was subzero to the touch, and rarely moved, even ice crystals formed around its base. The longer the egg stayed unmoving, the colder it grew, and as hope was lost for it and the hatchling inside, cracking, like a glacier settling was heard, and a little red snout pressed through the layers of ice. As the imperial baby pressed through and out into the nest, snow fell around him, and his eyes opened for the first time. Stark white orbs peered up at his mother, ice forming along with his fur, and snowflakes falling from his eyes. His runes glowed a deep blue, ice framing them across his scales, making them flicker and shimmer soft white. As he grew up he showed marvelous capabilities for magic, often chilling the area around him to keep the ice that clung to his fur and scales nice and cold to preserve them. While he wasn't fully blind, low lights are preferred for his eyes, he showed little promise for hand-to-hand combat, even with his size and build, but excelled quickly in any magic he was taught. What he most excelled at though was freezing enemies in place, for stronger dragons to take care of, he did know a bit of healing magic for any small healing needs. Once he was deemed able to leave, he quickly left the nest he decided to join another Rifter in a hidden little clan in the deep caves of the Emperor's Wake. His companion Venom was much smaller than himself, but they complemented each other well. While Venom was not exactly interested in the others of the clan, Shakok's personality was much kinder than his counterpart, building his nest much closer to the others than Venom. He often hung about with Heart, adoring the little hatchlings she watches over, often making the hatchlings things resembling popsicles with his magic (with a little help from Chamomile). He can also be found with Spire, admiring her ability to reanimate the dead, and never for nefarious means, he'd seen her reanimate hatchlings lost familiar, who had a little too rough playtime, to a perfectly healthy being. While Shakok found the nicer things in life he also found Snowstorm, a being whose shape never quite stays the same. She had come from a lair not too far from his own, a tiny little spiral hatchling whose deep blues reminded him of a water's depths. She dressed in greens and browns, her head adorned with horns and swampy green hair that hid most of her body. He was enthralled and quickly took to her as she grew up, learning simple shapeshifting from her at first, then mastering it as he mastered her heart. Snowstorm buries herself in his mane whenever he has to leave to join him on his journies. They are inseparable, and she had adorned his den in many pretty things she had gathered along their journies. |
