 B I O G R A P H Y
Many other Explorers of the lineage would take to the surface and return with colourful stories to match their hide, but not Karmiu. She knew she would never be a proper Cave Dweller, but she heard that the surface was no better for her. Underground, she would never belong. But above ground, her colours would attract predators and she could be killed. Karmiu was stuck between a rock and, well, the underground. She did not belong and she was too scared to change that. So, upon finding a magical geode close to the surface, Karmiu told herself a comforting lie: She did have a purpose. She was destined to guard the magic of this amethyst geode. That way, she did not have to admit to being lost or scared. SFor many years, Karmiu guarded this geode. She grew to believe her own lie and felt safe in it. That is, until a wandering Fae called Cinella visited her geode and sapped up its magic! The magnificent crystals went cold and colourless, their beauty instead absorbed into Cinella's once basic hide. Karmiu was furious. Both at Cinella, who had stolen the magic, and herself. Because with the geode gone, Karmiu had lost her invented purpose. She had to face her loneliness and fears, or crumble into despair with her false destiny.
