Biography

Sagittarius [Tari]
The Archer - The learned healer whose forms a bridge between Life and death
AuIQGpW.png
A Dragon does not truly understand what they have, until it is taken from them. Sagittarius never understood his first love's worry regarding death and deities, he brushed it off as a worry that would never burden them. He was young and stubborn, and now he was alone.
It seemed even a trained guard could not save his family from the deities and fate.
The sense of freedom rang rapid through the dragon when he was young, often venturing out to see the wider fields of the Windswept Plateau; but on his return one eve it seemed everything he knew and loved had vanished. He tried to settle, tried to channel that anger into his fighting and defending of home… But if there was no love at home, what was worth defending? He was a shell of himself, bitter and bleak as the once wonderful and bright life around him.

Sagittarius ventured out, seeking answers that would only break his heart further. His love and his son served under the Plaquebringer, and twin daughters served the Gladekeeper. That left one daughter, alone. He followed the rumours that she had been last spotted in the Southern Icefields, the farthest afield from his home. Even if he was too late, he would make sure she was not alone.

The bitterness towards the world, and the determination he held meant the dragon was rather unprepared for the journey he set out on once leaving the Viridian Labyrinth. Rage blinded logic and the dragon found himself with wounds that the normally careful and calculating guard would have never previously allowed himself to endure. Stumbling out of the woods, the stubborn dragon was determined to carry on, but his wounds would not allow such a thing.

That was when he found another, a kind and happy soul… very different from the injured mess of a dragon he was.

Saggitarus had never anticipated company on what he determined to be one way or the other his last journey, and it took a lot of convincing but… soon the dragon relented and soon the pair ventured out. It had been a long time since the dragon had another to protect, or even talk to… a welcomed change, even if difficult to adapt to at first. It took a small dragon with the largest spark to help the Skydancer find a smile again.

Growing in the Windswept Plateau, he had never held an affinity for the ice and cold, but as he made his first steps into the ice world, he noted its beauty. Different from what he knew, but through the bitterness there was a shiny, the glow of the stars brought an infinity of comfort.

Eventually wandering into the territory of some scouts, two similar to himself. The younger one seemed to be the embodiment of an Ice dragon, and the elder with cutting Shadow eyes. Seeing the travellers as no real threat, they returned back to their fire. The clan was tiny, four dragons all in all… The two Skydancers seemingly lead the charge, while the other two skulked in the background. The pair vaguely shared their stories, and it seemed they were all lost souls who had wandered down the cliff edges.
It was then he decided he would see what the clan could hold for him. They were small, and while the sea and cliff edges gave them natural defences, beasts still roamed the forest and no doubt rouge dragons would attempt to take what little wealth the tiny clan had… Sagittarius would stay, and would defend the clan. If he was going to serve the Icewarden, he would go with teeth and claws.

Often out on patrol, the dragon worked to keep the clan safe. Even when a more bloodthirsty Mirror joined the clan, convinced she could do it all herself. Sagittarius stood his ground, while he believed in his mission, it was also restraint and fairness needed to be a well respected fighter… and this Mirror held neither. Returns from his shifts were always welcomed by the fire, enjoying a moment to relax and tell his stories with Demetria… He had watched from a distance how the shy dragoness slowly developed into a caring soul, watching over the clan and doing her best to help it grow. Still easily annoyed by the Shadow mage, Saggitarius would never admit to Calx’s face, he knew the mage held a strength and a control of magic that the melee guard would never fully understand, a quiet respect was given between the pair… in between eyerolls. He was even gifted his nickname by the brash mage of the clan, who could never pronounce his full name correctly. Sagittarius watched the two mages work together to strengthen their magic and their bond, often offering combat tips from his perspective.
The three worked to make the clan stronger, making sure newcomers though few and far between were welcomed, be that guests or dragons who wished to stay longer.

Shocked when one of the Star twins wanted to take up the post of a guard, from such an early age too… but, he heard her out, and heard her reasoning. It took some convincing, but he allowed it. Training her to defend and protect the clan, the dragoness had a strong sense of justice from the first day… and he knew that when his own private mission was complete, under her watch, the clan would be safe.
