okay so i think mariana is actually a deadbeat dad and he left bolir to raise marotte by herself which was especially difficult bc that was around the time luminax rose. and when bolir was killed marotte was still way too young and she started to resent her absent father even more. i think she ended up being taken in by drupe and his dads being a semi permanent house guest and seeing how much his fathers loved him made her even more bitter abt her own. she eventually apprenticed under a witch residing in the hewn city, and the witch encouraged that hatred and told marotte punishing her dad was a good idea actually. n drupe was more gently trying to be like hey. maybe dont do that. but ofc she travels to wind and tries it anyways. im not sure if i want mariana to be guilty and apologetic or still just be nope nope nope not my problem but whatever he does i think its Not what marotte expected and it just makes her so much More angry and she kills him <3 (told the lore to my gf and they were like "no she should get to kill him. i'll kill him." so rip mariana)
