Biography
“...for those unhallowed pits whither no dreams reach; that last amorphous blight of nethermost confusion where bubbles and blasphemes at infinity's centre the mindless daemon-sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud."

"Look at the sky, Martin! Look at the sky! It's looking back!" - Jon, MAG160 |
AZATHOTH Azathoth or just Jon is the head of the Outer Gods and king-of-Aira's advisor. He sprawls out at the center of Aira's archives to the continuous, monotonous sound of someone playing the flutes. Dreamers quickly learn to fear this sound, which takes part in many dark rituals. His minions maintain hold over whole regions of Dreamland, including Leng and the dark side of the moon. Since Azathoth remains deep in Aira's archives, he sometimes commands Nyarlathotep itself to do his bidding. Alternatively described as 'blind' and 'mindless', he and his spawn devour anything they interact with. He appears to be a dark, shifting, shapeless void, as if he were a black hole. This would make it impossible to "dress" him in traditional clothing, although he might wrap himself in silks and ribbons for a more nebulous effect. Some would say him a pure evil and the personification of fear, but compared to other beings in Nyarlathotep, he is just a harmless watcher and book-keeper. When the young prince Iranon disappeared, he was ordered to hear any witnesses and weed out the possible suspects. However, even years later the search for prince Iranon is still ongoing. A cause for many Nyarlathotepian's grief and sorrow. The king and his queen cannot be persuaded into giving up the search and most think that Iranon has been long dead and his search to be forfeit. Jon feels just disappointment in his failure to find the sun of Aira, as the little prince was called. 12th of July, XXXX - Aira's archives, at sunset
We have succesfully weeded out even the last bits of those who wanted our king's head. There is not any threats for the king anymore but... the search for poor Iranon still continues. The king's battleforces haven't found enough leads to the prince's whereabouts. There's actually no evidence that could point to kidnapping. The king however does not want to even consider the other option. But soon we all may have to believe that... well, that Iranon might be gone. Dead. Even my powers can't reach him. They haven't been able to, not in years. I wonder... If he is alive, just... where is he? And does Iranon even remeber us anymore? He was so young, then... Too young.
