Once a Priest of a Healing Church, a doctor of sorts, Gascoigne travelled Sornieth helping the unwell. As his oath dictated, though he never divulged the details, he would assist any dragon in any way necessary. Self-sacrificing and noble were words often used to describe the hulking behemoth of a dragon.

Gascoigne wasn't entirely sure when it was that his viewpoint of the world changed. Perhaps it was seeing the depths of darkness that dragonkind was capable of, or maybe being witness a grotesque transformation from living dragon to unholy beast by his lover and fellow member of his clergy, Viola. Whichever the reason, Gascoigne's mind had warped over the years, shifting from helping the afflicted with their symptoms of illness and imbalance, to an obsession with stopping anyone from becoming unwell to begin with! He would never again allow a dragon to succumb to the cursed blood that ran through the Healing Church and its descendants.

His obsession led him to the Southern Icefield, where he heard a dragon with questionable intent was researching the very blood that begot Gascoigne's woes.

Presently, Gascoigne assists Yharnam with his research by way of collecting samples.
