Biography

Nintinugga - Mistress who revives the dead

“Wrong. Wrong.” A hiss. A scrape of claws against her gold jewelry. What little flicker of hope she may have had for Tisiphone’s shade has long since evaporated. He is not her chosen. He’s as insignificant and useless as the lot of them to Ereshkigal.
Yet, before her sit three eggs. Earth, of course, useless passive element that it is. She should crush them here in her bunker and simply see if she can fashion the energy into something else. Perhaps devour them.
One of the eggs cracks, its Ruby and limestone surface breaking apart. It’s a small red snout that exits. She’s shaken from her thoughts. “Now what?”
The egg topples over, the top fully breaking off. A hatchling crawls out, a hide as red as Tisiphone’s. They blink up at her with their dark brown eyes, a miserable little mewl escaping them.
A sigh escapes Ereshkigal. She picks up the hatchling, holding them up in front of her. The other eggs are cracking and wobbling precariously. “What am I supposed to do with you, you frail little godling?” She murmurs, tilting her head. The hatchling mimics her.
For all intents and purposes, the little shaded bugger was quite cute.
Ereshkigal holds the hatchling to her chest. “… Maybe you can be of use to me yet.” Tisiphone’s shade, still clinging to her hands like blood, is smeared through the hatchling’s mane. “We’ll find someplace for your brothers and sisters to be dumped at. Every cult needs its heralds, no?”
The hatchling chirrups in seeming agreement.
Ereshkigal smiles. “Yeah, I thought you’d say that. Now let’s go gloat to your so-called father, shall we?”

One could say there’s little difference between Ereshkigal’s method of creating children and her eternal fascination, Dismas. It is still blood, magic and perhaps empty eggshells.
No one said she needed to ask for permission.
Tisiphone, one of Dima’s sons from when he was still Adam, would serve to act as Guinea pig for her little tests. Stealing him away from safety, she tore his shade from him with tooth and claw. What she managed to extract she took back to her workshop. There, she took what she learned from Dima and blew life in the eggs.
What has come out is more shade than dragon. It lives regardless, but the hatchlings need to soak up the life energy of creatures nearby. As such, they might find themselves drawn to social lifestyles, to gather as many people around them as possible. Some may do it out of a lack of awareness, others do it with an intentional slyness. Luckily, their Shade comes with its own perks, be it a natural magnetism or an appealing voice.
