Her eyes looked forward, yet her gaze wasn't here or there. It was looking at places long gone. Objects long gone. Swallowed by time.
Sometimes it was little things, like plates with animal faces on them. A slide from a toy camera. The guileless gaze of a soft teddy bear dressed in gentle rainbows.
Sometimes these things are much farther back, like the horse that spins to music with the twist of a key. The song is never to be found again. Swallowed by time.
The ghosts that haunt Honeybee never once breathed air. Rather, lost objects wander her vision.

"I'm glad you could join me on this lovely sunny day! Do you know why I invited you to join me for my walk?"
She shook her head.
"Well, I wanted to have a chat with you. As time goes on, I find it much easier to talk to friends when it's just me and them. Have you ever noticed that?"
"...mmm.. I guess."
"Wonderful! Now I'm just going to ask you a few questions. If you don't feel comfortable with answering one, just say 'skip'. Ok?"
The little spiral nodded her head.
