Uh-oh, looks like this runaway Coatl wandered a little too far from her home lair (childwolf25, #425535), and now she's off to see the world! Cen had grown up as the princess to the throne. She'd known ever since her birth that she was destined to be ruler of her lands, and had known the weight and responsibility of her position and title.

But Cen had never felt right. She felt small and ungainly in her royal robes, like she was drowning in them. And she'd never felt royal, unlike her family who practically shone next to her. She wished for true freedom, to be able to run free like a wild thing through forests and mountains; to be able to feel the sun fully on her face, instead of having to hide away to protect her 'fair features'. She wished to be able to feel the sweat running down her back after a day of long hard labour, instead of having to sit with her governess in a temperature-controlled room day-in-day-out.

And most of all, she wished to fall in love. Real love, not like the marriage that had been arranged for her before she'd even been born, to the prince of a neighbouring clan to gain political standing.

So the night that she turned an adult, Cen packed the bags she'd been hiding for months, and stole away into the night. Perhaps she'd finally get to experience the world she'd been dying to see for years.


The first clan Cen arrived at after her hurried escape into the night was a small grove, tucked away in the corner of the Mirrorlight Promenade. Cen was really excited - she loved flowers, and had always wanted to learn how to garden, but her parents had never let her dirty her hands in the court gardens.

Excited, she spoke to the gardener, who was more than happy to have an extra pair of hands around. So Cen spent her time in this clan working alongside Hydrangea, who was a patient teacher, and taught her what felt like a lifetime's worth of gardening knowledge. She wondered what her parents would think about this, back home. But Cen felt more fulfilled than she'd ever had in her life, on her hindlegs digging through mud, miles away from home.
