Biography

If Zeni had been careful, she could have become one of the greatest mages of all time. She was born in a hot cave filled with steam in the water flight, but discovered she had fire magic as a hatchling. She played with fire magic and let it guide her, and chose to worship the Flamecaller rather than the Tidelord, but she followed the fire flight too much, and ignored the world around her.. Zeni became obsessed, and was unable to notice the magic was causing her to evaporate away. She forsake everything but the fire magic and the Flamecaller, even her friends and family.

Once her friend Cole found her, he tried to stop her from using her gifts more. Cole told Zeni that her gifts were causing her to evaporate, and that she had to stop using them for her own good. But it was too late. She no longer listened to anything but the magic-even her friends were worthless to her now. Zeni told Cole to go away, and never return to her cave.

The next day, she was gone. Zeni had evaporated and died. A burst of magic went across the world when she died, and it set the world on fire for one second. Her eyes were turned into sapphires by the spell as well. These sapphires are the only remains of Zeni, a powerful sorceress who became too obsessed with her gifts.

Zeni’s ghost shows up in mirages around her old cave in hot weather, telling anyone there to go away. Even in death, she still worships the Flamecaller and obsesses over fire magic. In her eyes, she never died- to her, she has ascended into a avatar of the Flamecaller. She is unaware of her death and continues her daily routines as though she were a living dragon.

Zeni is regarded as an expert on all things related to the Flamecaller and Fire Magic. If a dragon needs help figuring out a magic item from the Fire Flight or needs to learn a spell to harness Fire Magic, it is common for the dragon to travel to Zeni’s cave and ask her spirit for guidance. Though her ghost only appears on hot days, she can be summoned by lighting three candlesticks and chanting her name as they burn. When the candlesticks have all stopped burning, Zeni’s spirit will appear.
