Nature alone is antique, and the oldest art a mushroom.

Pale lights reflect off the multicolored mushrooms that decorate the small grove where Leif can be found. Frolicking amongst her collection, her personality just as varied and unique as the fungi she collects. Due to her regularly whimsically shifting self, her collection is constantly being reorganized, by color, size, shape, type, age, rarity, and use. Every week she ventures off to find more mushrooms for her collection and sometimes stumbles into some friends along the way.

Fortunately, her heads are in alignment, agreeing with each other and hospitable towards the other. Frequently finishing the other’s sentences when speaking and coordinated enough to move without much issue, she gets along well.Alongside her mushroom collection, her obsession with crystalline minerals is just as varied. Her favorite is fluorite, a multi-colored mineral known for its powerful energetic healing properties and mesmerizing physical beauty. The fluorite stone received its name from the fluorescent luminance that it emits when held under certain angles of light, giving it a magical glowing appearance. This enigmatic crystal can be found in a wide variety of different shades and colors, and each of them is as captivating as the next. Fluorite is a stone heralded for its spiritual detoxification abilities and tendency to transform negative energy into positive energy, boosting our mental clarity and promoting peace of mind.

Her familiar, Thorn, is a fluorite windsinger — a sentient dragon statue known for its ability to absorb negative energy and transmute it into positive energy, making it the perfect crystalline companion. It follows her around as she collects her crystals and mushrooms, deflecting any negative energy that may come her way.

Wandering in the clearing of short grass and moss, Leif danced her way around, picking at the small mushrooms littering the ground. Humming quietly as she twirled about, her eyes scanning for some of the specific mushrooms she was missing from her collection.

“Oooh! You’re perfect!” she cooed as she picked up an Indigo Milk Cap, a gorgeous blue mushroom with excellent healing energy. Carefully avoiding damaging the fragile fungus, she slipped it into the bag she brought with her that carried her familiar and some Mycena chlorophos - tiny bioluminescent mushrooms that reflected beautifully off of Thorn’s fluorite scales.

Bounding along, Leif whispered small greetings to the butterflies and bees fluttering past. Wishing them well, she continued on, murmuring small blessings to the nature she saw.

Reentering the forest, she came upon a faerie ring, the small circle of mushrooms welcoming her with an overflowing energy. Placing Thorn just outside of the ring, she laid in front of them, feeding energy into her familiar from the faerie ring.

Small fae dragons emerged from their amber sap-spun nests in the surrounding trees, drawn to the soft energy swirling in the ring. Small chittering and whistling tunes could be heard, as the small tribe approached cautiously.

“Great Mother, may my companion and I rest here?” Leif asked as the tribe mother came to perch on the mushroom in front of her.

A small-clawed hand reached out to hover over Leif’s forehead, sensing her energy and intentions from her third eye on her left head. A bright chirp indicated an affirmative, and Leif inclined both of her heads as thanks.

“Thank you, may magic bless you,” the words had barely left her mouths before a strong energy gathered and sank into the faerie ring. Leif smiled, resting her heads gently on the two mushrooms in front of her.

Grounding herself, she directed all of the negative energy clouding her minds into the earth, sending it through her body and allowing it to sink below her. The earth would take it, repurpose it. Stretching lightly, she nestled herself back into a comfortable position as more of the fae dragons flitted over to her, resting themselves on her tails and wings, a few gently fluffing her neck fur before settling into it. She repressed a few giggles when the last few of the group adjusted themselves before beginning to pull energy and magic from the earth, distributing it to her new friends. Happy hums rewarded her efforts while they became more and more content.

Yes, this was nice. She let out a soft breath herself. The journey home was still waiting, but she could stay here for a little while longer.
