Background
In the day, she is almost never seen, choosing to blend into the background; At night, Solanine drapes herself in glitter, all to ensnare a gold-struck fool. She doesn't dance, nor does she sing; all she does it wait and watch. A flash of a desperation, a glint of gemstones, a face which had one too many drinks; a glance is all she needs to choose her victim. She beckons them with glowing golden claws (dipped in one to many goblets) and leads them to a private room, one sip and the poison has entered their system. She gains nothing but the joy of watching them die slowly. When Solanine was young, she and her brother were punished for the latter's greed; she would ooze deadly poisons from her claws for the rest of her life, thus forbidding her from touching any other living creature. Over time, she grew to resent her brother, and threw herself into a destructive lifestyle to spite him. He tries his best to stop her, but there is nothing to be done, but to await the day their punishments destroy them both.

Solanine /ˈsɒləniːn/ (noun)
a glycoalkaloid poison found in species of the nightshade family within the genus Solanum, such as the potato, the tomato, and the eggplant. It can occur naturally in any part of the plant, including the leaves, fruit, and tubers. Symptoms include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, eczema, thyroid problems, and inflammation and pain in the joints. In more severe cases, hallucinations, loss of sensation, paralysis, fever, jaundice, dilated pupils, hypothermia, and death have been reported. |
