Biography
Asmodeus had not always been Asmodeus.
He had been someone else before, a forgotten name and a forgotten past.
What was he, really, if not but a shadow of himself—of a god.
He couldn’t remember much for all his memories were faded like the sands of time. Yet, in a stroke of inexplicable luck, Asmodeus had found salvation. His past, his name, his own self had been stripped away and replaced with someone new, someone better.
But what exactly was better? Was his old self bad? Was it so much worse that it had led to this? It was unexplainable. It would forever remain unexplainable for the only one who remembered his past was his master, his savior. He couldn’t possibly dare ask something so trivial, something that no longer mattered. After all, Asmodeus was the one to ask for this change, asked to become bigger than anything he’d ever seen before.
And in the end, it did not matter. He did not matter. He had asked for something—even if he didn’t remember—and paid the price.
Such is all the things that come across the abyss.
