Biography

Sonata

18922.png16490.png

Caretaker

Sonata always knew she was different, but never in a good way. Aberration culture valued beauty more than it should, and she knew that. So, when Sonata emerged appearing, as her mother described, 'clown-like' her entire family winced at the life they knew she'd endure. Her poor coloration in addition to unruly frills made her appear laughable and her siblings never held back any torments. Unable to find acceptance through one pillar of aberration culture, Sonata sought validation through another: eggs. She always loved the idea of having hatchlings, she wanted to give them the love she'd been denied in her youth. So, when a nursery opened up, Sonata was the first applicant. The owners took one look at her, laughed, and not-so-politely told her they were searching for other options.

She was devastated. Unaccepted by her community, Sonata sought comfort from her family. Despite their best attempts, any sympathy was forced and Sonata knew she'd never find respect in the Arcanist's domain. Her family begged her to stay, but she knew nothing would ever change, that she would be stuck in others' perceptions of her. She fled, ignoring the grief that ripped through her, and set off towards the grossest place she had heard of: the Shadowbinder's domain. She didn't last long there and soon sought sanctuary in the dark woods where Forras stumbled upon the distraught aberration. In the den, Sonata's confidence was revived and she became herself again, unhindered by her appearance. As she grew comfortable, her desire to have hatchlings exploded, but there were no other aberrations in the den at the time. When Kishke arrived, Sonata found him strangely endearing. He was a quiet dragon who was sweet and desperate for acceptance. She had found her kindred spirit.

Sonata is a confident dragon, no longer held back by her previous communities judgments. She loves hatchlings and cares for them constantly. Her relationship with Kishke has improved through the years and the two regularly bond over hating their past homes.
