Biography
Hendrix
Magician
Hendrix was the class clown as a hatchling. He got no greater joy than when the dragons around him were roaring in laughter or paying rapt attention to whatever story he was weaving from his mouth. He was a storyteller, a jokester, a jester, and he loved himself for it. So, when he left school and lost his primary source of an audience, Hendrix was lost, emotionally and mentally. He had made the mistake of defining himself by how others viewed him and without that source of validation Hendrix couldn't live with himself. He turned to a last-ditch effort: being a magician. His parents hated him for it, knowing the career lacked honor or stability, but the veilspun was determined. The first few years of his attempts were rough, and he often found a home in the dark streets of Murkbarrow Close. One cold morning, Hendrix nearly called it quits when he learned of his parents exalting themselves to the Windsinger. He considered returning home, mourning with his numerous siblings, but he knew none of them would return. No child of Cherron and Mary held much love for their parents. It was a fact of the family. He poured everything into growing as a magician, using old Windsigner domain wind-secrets to influence his show. Hendrix's popularity exploded overnight. Within a week, he was hired to perform at the Shadowbinder's Trickmurk Circus. He was overjoyed. He had everything he'd ever wanted. He was wildly beloved and laughter followed him everywhere he went. Hendrix had won.
But, on the night of the circus, a freak electrical accident left him burned and unconscious backstage. He was found the next morning. When Hendrix woke, the doctors told him he was lucky to be alive, but he had permanent, arc-like scarring that covered his whole body. Hendrix had missed the show and the Shadowbinder was not very forgiving. Miran contacted him the moment he left urgent care and offered the veilspun a more permanent job offer, one without pay but it offered free food and housing and company for years. Hendrix had no better option and accepted the role. A few months into his stay at the den, he met Solar, a chaotic veilspun from his home domain and they quickly fell into a passionate relationship that many would describe being similar to an active forest fire.
Hendrix aims to please but hides a quiet bitterness that pops out occasionally. He is approachable and many love him and his work. His more feral aspects can cause issues but his lovable nature quickly wins everyone over again.
