Hatched by another clan, Ferian was bought at the insistence of Yorsa who upon seeing his eye color, knew she had to save one of her own. Once named she took him under her wing and helped him adjust to the larger family.

During his youth he played with the other hatchlings of the lair and became quick friends with Agapito and Ilario. The three were often seen together either in silence or determined to make one another understand. When the two transformed he was delighted at the chance of having a proper conversation with them. Sometimes he misses their smaller bodies which would often ride atop his when they went out for a quick flight.

As he grew older he approached Yorsa to be her mate but when she rejected him he was crushed and left the family. Rynal, who understood much of heartbreak, went after him. Ferian trained under him and learned to become a fierce warrior for the clan. After a time, Ferian returned and he and Yorsa made up. Though there are moments when he often wonders what their relationship could have been, he is content to be regarded as her son.

Not long after he came back Lira approached him. She was new to the clan and saw potential in him. The two had hatchlings which were given away to neighboring clans. He cares deeply for her and believes he will grow to love her.
