Born the favored son of Odin and Frigga, he had horrific visions of his own murder at a young age, though he could never see the face of his assailant.He asked his mother for help,or perhaps reassurance, as children are want to do. But his mother, horrified at the mere prospect of his death, extracted an oath from every single living thing on the planet...everything, that is, except for mistletoe, as at the time the plant was too small to make any such promise. They thought little more of it, the other gods going so far as to hurl weapons at Baldr, knowing they would not harm him. This would backfire terribly one day, however. Baldr's status as the favorite god of the realm was not without contest, and while some would argue it was Loki that slew him, others would argue it was Baldr's own brother Hodr, jealous of his brother and how well loved he was. To Baldr himself it made no difference, the mistletoe slew him all the same, and he doesn't remember the who or the why

It isn't certain exactly how or why Baldr managed to escape Helheim, or why he's here in the current realm, but he makes the most of it. He remembers next to nothing of note about his time in the Norse underworld, only darkness. He has long since forgiven the one responsible for his death...for regardless of if it was Loki or if it was Hodr, the reason ends up being the same. His father's pride had infringed on other's rights and happiness to the extent that the person in question felt that this was their only answer. Asking the god about his past will result in nothing, for he will not revisit old wounds. But the past lives in his memory, and there it shall remain.
