Sunrise

Sunrise pried her gaze away from the magnificent imperial beside her, admittedly a bit startled by the booming voice of the guardian Castle who stood before them. The guardians voice resonated in the large hall as he spoke, commanding every dragons attention. A few dragons were milling about the great hall, and others were peering in as they passed by the arching doorway, curious about the newcomers.
Sunrise puffed out her chest proudly. She and the proud imperial had arrived around the same time, and she was absolutely enamored by him at first sight. Young, in love, and impulsive, she was determined to win his affection.

Castle guided the newcomers through the territory, and as they shuffled to their new quarters, Sunrise brushed against Akaros. She'd planned to apologize sheepishly and strike up a conversation, but Akaros simply moved to the side and huffed, not even casting a cursory glance in her direction and she stumbled over her words. "Uhhh.. Uhmm apple geez" was all she could stutter out and the imp paid her no mind. Apple geez?? Way to go Sunrise! Making a fool out of yourself. She grumbled internally.

Being so lost in thought, Sunrise jerked her head back when she bumped into the guardian before her. She hadn't even noticed he'd stopped. "That's alright" Castle said as he brushed off his coat. "Anyways," he continued "this is where you'll be staying." He gestured towards a larger openfaced cave. The floor was decked out with a large plush bed of pillows and a sturdy log desk. Various decorative plants were growing out of ledges carved into the walls and a lamp hung from a rope anchored to the ceiling. "You can pull the curtain for privacy, and use the oil lamp for light during the darker hours. It must have been a long travel for you both, so get some rest. I'll be back when the sun peers over the ridge to show you other important locations in the lair." Sunrise glanced at Akaros expectantly, but her expression quickly dropped when Castle guided the imp away. When Castle had said "you both" she thought she'd be sharing a room with the beautiful imp. She watched them, hoping to figure out where Akaros was staying, but they strayed out of sight. With a sigh Sunrise turned to settle down in her new room. The guardian was right, she was exhausted. With the imp no longer commanding all her focus, she noticed how heavy her legs felt and slumped into the bed.
