"HUA"
and Kai. "Hm..." The pair have been pondering over a certain something for a while now. They haven't moved from their spot in the past hour, each head speaking to the other in hushed sounds. The two seem to be in a deep discussion. One head looked to be observing something in the distance while their partner looked at them pointedly. I can't quite make out what they're saying... if they're even speaking in the common tongue. I've been observing this... creature for well over half a day now. They had wandered too close to clan territory, and I was tasked with keeping an eye on them. If necessary, I would drive them away. However... they don't seem to pose a threat at all. After treading around the promenade for a few hours, they settled in their spot on the ground. I'm finding it difficult to identify this... creature. They certainly aren't from around here, but even then, I'm not sure if they can be counted as a dragon or not. Perhaps it was a new type of beast. After some more loitering, with the beast still in its spot, unmoving, I decided to come out of hiding and make an attempt at communication. I cleared my throat. "Excuse me." Three bright, red eyes looked my way, but they didn't say a word. I tried again. "Can you understand me? You are currently too close to clan grounds. My clan's grounds. If you won't let yourselves out, would you kindly identify yourselves?" The three-eyed head grumbled, nudging the other head; they seemed to have zoned out. The nudge got its attention. All five of their eyes now looked my way. Seems I've got the creature's full attention now. But still, not a word. One head, the one with three eyes, gave me a questioning look. I sighed. Speaking louder and enunciating each word, I repeated myself. "You are too close to my clan's grounds. Could you please identify yourselves?" The head with the curled horns spoke, in clear common Draconian, "Please, I'm not here for trouble. I'm just... lost. Can you help me?" Then, the the three-eyed head butted in. They had a deeper, gruffer voice than their partner. "No, don't listen to him. We are not lost. We're on our way elsewhere." My head spun. So, they can speak the common tongue. Then that means they must be dragons. But their two heads... could they possibly be a variant of an Emperor? Perhaps another amalgamation birthed from the bodies of another breed? But... they certainly don't act dead. Their demeanor is beyond confusing, though. I shook my head. "Then please, if you are simply passing through, let me know where you're headed and I can escort you there." A pause. Neither head spoke. The three-eyed head frantically looked to their partner, but the other wouldn't meet their gaze. Then, three-eyes let out a heavy sigh. "That's the thing. I don't know where we're going. Hua-" they glared at their partner, "never told me where we were headed. But I know we're headed somewhere, okay? I just do." I blinked. They most certainly did not share one mind, then, if one head is withholding information from another, and one head seemed to be in a completely different emotional state than the other. And yet it seems that they controlled their shared body in sync. Even though Hua -supposedly the one with the curled horns- didn't look to be in any hurry to move from their spot, their body has now stood up and started shifting their weight from foot to foot... like they were nervous. Then, curly horns -Hua- finally spoke up again. They seemed to have an outburst. "I don't know where I'm going! Don't you get it? I have no idea where I am. One second, I was walking around the boneyard looking for scraps, and the next, I wake up in the middle of nowhere, with a completely different body, and it's way too bright, and I feel the weirdest feeling on my chest, and if that isn't nearly bad enough, I've also got a second head now! I only said I knew where to go to get you to shut up so I could actually think." Three-eyes visibly reared back. They looked rather shocked. Scared that the argument might escalate beyond control, I quickly went up to the two and put a claw on three-eyes' shoulder. "Look. You two definitely have no idea where you're going, or where you are. For now, I'll take you to my clan, alright? My lady... she should know what to do. Please, calm down, and come with me." Hua relaxed some, and three-eyes kept their gaze on the ground. they looked like a kicked puppy. I almost felt bad. After all, it was me who caused Hua's outburst. Carefully, I led them towards clan grounds. As we were walking through the Promenade, Hua spoke up. "Uh, miss, it just occurred to me to ask. What's your name?" I looked up at the rather tall... dragon. "Please, call me Valkyrie." |

user comment: yes, Hua was named after Hua Cheng from Heaven Official's Blessing, but he's not a fan dragon :) I have literally never read the novels.
