Biography
He had a troublesome childhood.
Ever since he was born Mawinno has had some trouble with life. He wasn't exactly raised in a calm, trouble free environment. He had a large family, filled with rowdy loud dragons that rivaled his own quiet, shut down personality. He was a bit smaller then the rest as well, leaving him vulnerable to many things. He wasn't granted the "youngest child" privilege's. His older siblings usually got away with things by blaming it on him. He would drown in the trouble that they cause, slowly developing signs of a speech impediment. It made it hard to communicate properly without a harsh stutter interrupting his words. Bullying easily followed, and all he could do was just go with it. Throughout his time in academy and basic level schooling other dragons continuously mocked his stuttering. When he finally found out what he wanted to be, it just caused more stuttering and more laughter.
He wanted to be a tailor.
Maw himself didn't understand the problem with this. He could sit in the back of his shop and create outfits to his heart's content and show them off to the world. Sometimes he would even dream about his name stretching across the land, people talking of his skill and craftsmanship. The problem only arose after he found out the cost of opening a shop, of materials, of manufacturing things and last but not least, advertisement and pitching sales. With his speech it was hard to talk to others without a slight tease, mimicking tone or them just flat out looking away. How would he be able to get the word across about his clothing without them looking away? how was he going to get a supplementary job in order to pay for the supplies if he couldn't have it as a full time job? what if he got robbed, was outshined, vandalized? there was so much to consider and its all he could think about.
With this came an unhealthy habit of overthinking and taking other peoples words to heart. Instead of going for his dream, he worried to much about the outcomes and decided on a different approach to life. He would just become a wanderer. Nothing else seemed to fit him, and in order to find something that might work better for him he would have to look for it. Once he was finally old enough, Maw went off on his own merry way. Happy to leave his old family behind and try desperately to start anew. He hoped with all his heart that he would never have to bother with a family of his own. the stress, the resources, the attention, the money, it was ridiculous. he just wanted his own shop and to go along his merry way making clothes. But just like they said before, that wasn't exactly the easiest thing for him to do.
So he just, wandered. There was nothing else to do. scraping along, trying to find any spare change he could get his paws on just to eat that day. It was humiliating to him. People took pity on him, made fun of him, told him he should have shot for a different star rather then the one he had twinkling out of view. It completely ruined his self esteem. Like he had any in the first place. However, his dreams still persisted with the same things. A famous tailor with his name on a sign and his clothes on the backs of all the dragons in town, and even across all of Sornieth.
He just got worse after that.
It just got harder and harder to find a place to sleep, to keep his thoughts straight and to keep his words intelligible. Soon his paws began to tremble when he tried to hold onto something, his furry mane was to hard to comb through with his claws and he just wanted to curl up somewhere and forget about himself, just as others had forgotten about him.
Stumbling across the starwood strand, Maw was mesmerized by the aura of the place. It pulled him into a trance, and he decided this was the place he would sit until the reaper came to take him somewhere else. As he curled up at the base of the tree he heard a strong voice call out between the trees.
"come out, now you fiend! This is not a request, but an order!"
He trembled more then he ever did before, poking his head out around the trees and holding his paws up to signal he had no intent of doing something to the other dragon. Maw slowly moved from behind the tree and was almost stunned by the look of the spiral before him.
"H-h-hey hey there hey i'm not going to do anything-"
And that's how the two lovebirds met. Once he had reassured the spiral that he wasn't a threat to her she offered a seat beside her under the tree. Soon enough they got to talking and it all came pouring out of him. He barely stuttered as he told her the entirety of his life story. It's as though she had cast a spell on him, and he didn't care enough anymore to try and keep his maw shut. She seemed saddened by this and told him her name before offering her assistance to help him. Mawinno looked at her with a bit of a skeptical look and she explained that she would keep him safe, help build his store and help to market his outfits. He was ecstatic, and once he had calmed down and thanked her profusely for her help he asked what her dreams might be. Akeldama explained that she couldn't remember much beyond her name and she sat in silence for a moment before giving him a response.
"I want to be a warrior. Protect those who cannot protect themselves. Be feared, and feel no fear"
This startled Mawinno, but he quickly offered to make her a killer set of armor in order to protect her just as she offered to protect him. She seemed pleased by this, and so started a long life story he had no clue was waiting for him...
They found out the value of her scales and were easily able to pay for his dream. It always made him smile, and around her he felt safe. His trembles would calm down and so would his stuttering. He was able to fine tune his skills and grew very close with Akeldama. Soon enough he forged a pair of rings for the two of them and a promise was set in stone. She was dead set on making a healthy, strong family of dragons that she could keep safe. All of her younglings would be able to follow their own dreams and for once in his life, a family didn't seem half bad. He still got to work quietly to himself, teaching his trade to the occasional hatchling and sending them off on their way with a snazzy outfit and the motivation to chance the world of Sornieth for themselves. And so begins...
