Mictecacihuatl

Micte (Mick-tay) might be the same goddess of death known to the ancient Aztec; when asked to confirm this, she'll simply hum her coatl song in reply and point to the horizon. There, beyond where the eye can see, she was unearthed at a digsite of long-forgotten and abandoned glory. {{Imagine the diggers' surprise when the set of bones they'd been excavating suddenly shifted and shivered, animating the undead body of the dragon trapped in the earth!}}

Fond of snakes {{perhaps they remind her of Quetzalcoatl, her mentor}}, Micte permits them to accompany her on her travels {{well, all snakes except for the Red-Tailed Boa, which insists on sitting with its head higher than Micte's -- how rude!}}. What she seeks, she never says, but if she is the ancient queen of the dead, then it must be her missing king, Mictlantecuhtli, who is the object of her seemingly unending quest.
