Biography
──────────✽──────────
This time around, it was this nest’s turn to be dark like the sun had scorched them. Instead of the sanctum, Dima had taken Ariadne up to the surface. At present, he, her and the three dozing kids sat in the courtyard. Ariadne clears her throat. “So where will we be sending off our little soot sprites this time?” Dima is currently running his claws through Miztli’s mane. An all-girls hatching was clearly the way to his soft little heart. “I’m not sure. But perhaps up north, to plague territory proper. I can already sense these three will be terribly hardy.” “Well, I'm not surprised. All of them inherited your shade eating,” Ariadne murmurs. She kisses the top of Tlalli’s head. “They could truly do some good out there.” “All of my darling children can,” Dima responds with a chuckle. “But they don’t have to be heroes. Sometimes it is alright to simply live. To enjoy the beauty life has to offer. To-“ “Enjoy a good glass of wine, yes.” Ariadne interjects with a gentle poke of Dima’s forehead. “For all you know, they end up reveling in the hunt and survival the way Koschei does. You are sending them to the homeland after all.” “Agh, don’t remind me, she’s besides herself over my return to the living world.” Dima grimaces. Izel, a chubby soft little thing, stirs in his arms. He shushes her, kissing her forehead. “… She’s not necessarily bad, but she is a little intense. Regrettably, she’s also the most dependable for ferrying someone into the wasteland.” “You might as well ask. Evike is retired,” Ariadne says. She lays a hand on Dima’s cheek. “Look. You’re essentially a god to her at this point. If you worry she will not be careful with our children, think again.” A smile twists her lips, and she throws her arms wide. “She’d happily have herself drawn and quartered for the transgression of allowing harm to the spawn of- “Okay, okay-“ Dima immediately grabs her hands, lowering them to his lips. “She might hear you, please do not bring that upon me.” A deep flush dusts his cheeks. “I’ll consider asking her to bring the kids to their new homes. Let’s pray she doesn’t rub off on them too much.” Ariadne gently kisses his cheek. “Attaboy.”

Miztli was never the exuberant type, nor the type to mince words. She's blunt to a fault, with a fondness for the more morbid things in life and goth-inclined style of adornments. Her straightforward no-nonsense attitude is one of her finest traits, allowing her to use her shade devouring in a way few might have the stomach for: The purification of the dead. Like her father, Miztli has a great respect for funerary traditions, and the care for the deceased. She may be less jovial about it than her father, but she conducts herself with the same respect. Left alone with a body, she'll set to removing whatever Shade might be left within it as to make sure the rowdy eldritch force doesn't take the empty body for a joyride. It's a solemn process, but it's hers.
