Biography

Blasting Powder
S M O G
hunter
“get out of my way”

—APPEARANCE—

A stocky, muscular woman in a duster that looks three sizes too big for her and knee-high boots. Her face is covered by a bandana, and there’s an sour, smoky odor left behind in the spaces she lingers in for too long. The most peculiar thing about her, though, is the blunderbuss that sits on her back.

—HISTORY—

Smog was sharp and fierce from a young age, always picking fights with her siblings, with her elders… Hell, sometimes she’d pick fights with herself. Hemorrhage saw potential in the girl’s ire. The first chance he got, he gave her a rifle, took her out into the badlands, and left her there to fend for herself. When she returned to the church, she was smeared with dirt, blood and gunpowder, but she wore the bones and skins of the animals and monsters she’d killed on her way back.
The lessons of the Wasteland stuck with her more than those of the Church itself. It’s no surprise that when she left, she made a name for herself as a hunter. Beast, spirit, even dragon; it’s all fuel to her.

—ASSOCIATIONS—

Children raised by the Banescale flock that protect the Church of the Rotmother rarely leave its grounds. On the rare occasion that they do, they serve their goddess as traveling preachers, witch and monster hunters, or—in some bizarre cases—monsters themselves. Hemorrhage’s militant training instills in them the resilience they will need to survive the world they’ve only ever seen from atop the steeple, while their experiences working alongside Kuru teach them adaptability and the eclectic talents that come with it.
Of course, not all of them complete their training, but those that do are eager to share the teachings of the Rotmother; only the strong survive, but even the dead have their uses.
