While many aberrations live in a state of constant struggle, wherever there is society, there are those who take advantage of it. Even within the boils of the Wyrmwound, a parasitic nobility manages to form. They channel their magical energy into hypnotism, subtly manipulating the dragons around them into caring too much about their favor. As these dragons populate, their bloodlines splinter, and infighting erupts amongst them. But of course, conflict leads to alliances, which lead to betrayal, which lead to alliances once more.

The one thing that throws a wrench in their cyclical life is the mass exodus from the Wyrmwound. Startled that their once loyal subjects are now abandoning them, they send their young ones out into the world. Sinterite is one such youth.

Startled that his family would do something scarcely above exiling him, Sinterite decides as soon as he's out in the world that while he will find his family's subjects, he will certainly not bring them back. Instead, he'll start a new reign out in the world. A reign better than his parents could have ever managed.

As he wanders the realm, these fantasies slowly fizzle out. He cannot find them. And now it has been so long since he saw them that they might not even bear the same shape. Feeling desolate, it is then that he meets Vapor.

Vapor was a rival, in the Wyrmwound, but surely out here in the wide world she will be an ally. As it becomes increasingly clear that she wants nothing to do with him, he makes every promise he can think of, until finally she agrees to help him in his search.
