Biography
CAERAS {sea'·rahs} Founder | Clever | Friendly | Idealistic —————————- Caeras is a very intelligent fae-turned-nocturne dragon. He has a taste for solving puzzles, and also loves to sit outside the lair and enjoy the breeze. While he and Iastera may seem an unlikely pair, the two make a balanced team, what with her more levelheaded nature and his quirky, dreamer's attitude. Caeras was hatched on the Windswept Plateau, his egg being lost from its home nest, blown by the breeze to find a resting place among the tall bamboo shoots. He was surprisingly well-adjusted upon hatching, having learned much while he was dormant in the shell. He spent much of his adolescence blown by the breeze, never quite noticed by any clans that he passed by. He caught insects, practiced his naturally-strengthened magic (being hatched as a lost egg had given him more time than most hatchlings to be exposed to his home element, therefore giving him more power-this is why "First Generation" dragons tend to have more powerful elemental abilities), and observed other dragons from the outside, learning much. One day, having matured on his own and learned much of life's necessities and rules as well as the ways of other dragons, Caeras was surprised to come across a young female Guardian, exactly his age. He had been traveling through the easternmost reaches of the Plateau, contemplating journeying out to the Sea of a Thousand Currents, when he quite literally bumped into the gold and blue female. She was just as surprised as he was, and looked upon him with a peculiar wonder in her eyes. She was the first to have ever truly noticed him, and he was unsure of what to say, though he'd spent hours practicing his speech and wondering about the day that he'd be found. Iastera was her name, and Caeras found her beautiful. They agreed to travel together, and found that they had an incredible amount in common. He shared his ideas of venturing out from the Wind domain, and she revealed that she had been thinking of just the same thing. Together the two young dragons set off, then, to the shores of the Water Flight's home. Along the way, they grew ever closer, becoming the best of friends that either had ever known-though of course, they'd never really had any other prolonged interactions with other dragons. This in itself proved only to strengthen their relationship, however; they became remarkably significant to each other as the only friend they had. Time drew on, and as their relationship strengthened the two began to think of starting their own clan. They had finally met other dragons and spoken with them, had seen the power of a unified clan of dragons, and wished for the family aspect that they had never really known. They journeyed across the realms, searching for others who longed for the same comfort of clan that they did. After a brief stay in their breeze-swept homeland with a few of the dragons that they'd met and after their own clutch of children had made the decision to serve the Windsinger, the Founders decided to move to the Light territory that they'd visited in their travels. The fledgling clan soon found themselves an ideal home in a large stretch of cedar forest not far from the sea, and nestled into what came to be called the Singing Hollow. On one particular gathering venture during the winter, Caeras and his patrol were scouting along the borderlands of the Tangled Wood when they came across a strange scroll lying conspicuously out in the open. Curious as ever, the fae went to pick it up, hoping for some new tidbit of knowledge that he could bring back and add to the clan's growing library. When he unrolled it, however, a strange tingling sensation came over him, and his vision filled with stars. He didn't recall blacking out, but when he woke, he found his patrol staring at him in wonder and disbelief. When he tried to take a step towards them, he stumbled, and was shocked to see that his legs were now a strange new shape, shorter and with only three toes. His wings felt different, too--more compact, and when he tried to move his frills in an expression of confusion, there was nothing to move. {Read our story: Next}
