Biography
(Lore in creation)
In true Guardian fashion Arcane had left his family clan at maturity and like every dragon before him had ventured out into the world in search of his charge; the one being, thing or cause he'd swear his lifelong fealty to, the one thing that would complete him.
What he hadn't accounted for was the fact that his charge would find him.
Arcane had been young and boisterous at the time, strong and not entirely level-headed. He'd been frustrated and lonely and had picked a fight with the wrong dragon. After a thorough lashing from an older Guardian (one who'd been protecting his territory) he'd managed to crawl himself into a shallow cave and collapsed. Here he'd found himself waking to the curious, large head that was Fern, her grassy mane glimmering all around her like a forest canopy. She'd tended to his wounds and had foraged and hunted a meal so well put together Arcane had nearly wept. She fed him and cared for him in a comfortable silence until once his wounds had healed completely. When he was strong enough to fight, hunt and fly, she'd bestowed a gentle nuzzle to his head, turned and left.
In that moment Arcane understood what it meant to be a Guardian. He'd follow Fern, he'd follow her to the ends of the world and back again. She was his cause, his charge, and he would do anything for her.
