A quiet one, Gilder doesn’t say much in clan affairs. It’s not that he can’t speak, he just prefers to watch. Being a fae, he’s learned that many dragons several times his size often ignore his existence anyway so his large emerald eyes take in everything in thoughtful silence. When he does speak, his voice is no louder than a mouse’s whisper. He doesn’t mind that most dragons don’t even realize he’s there. It’s better he be ignored anyway; dragons are a lot more open to being observed if they don’t know you’re there.

Those who know his parentage are wary of the magical power he may possess. Unafraid of the violent consequences, his parents betrayed their original clan leader by joining forces with invading bandits. With the help of their combined strength, the mercenaries destroyed the clan’s hierarchy. Many say this is evidence for the fickleness of such powerful mage dragons, who’s only loyalty is to gaining more power. This all occurred before he was hatched, and by that time, the bandits were already in power. All he knows of the revolt come from horror stories passed through rumors. Still, Gilder prefers to not bring more attention to himself than necessary. He’s noticed that dragons tend to get ‘uneasy’ when he performs spells, so he feigns to have minimal magic abilities and only practices his true magic in private.

Because of his natural knowledge of herbal plants from his parents, Sulfur has him help in the hollow creating medical poultices. If she’s away or there are no patients to treat, he’ll tuck away in the library, reading the few archaic elemental magic books from Flurry’s collection in order to better learn how to control his own magic.

- Can be found deciphering old manuscripts in the archive room or hanging around other clan council members.
- “He talks, you just don’t listen.”
- Where’s Gilder???.....Oh, there he is.
- Has slight social anxiety though and doesn’t like crowds.
- Euphemia sometimes kidnaps him for company shopping at the marketplace. It gives him a frighten.
- Him and Diaphen are nohomo bromos who will literally spend all day in a room together reading books and enjoying the silence.
