Aberrations have always relied only upon themselves. Struggling to survive in the endlessly tumultuous climate of the Wyrmwound, there was little room to accumulate more than the bare necessities. This is why, when Despina and Petros first venture out into the world, they're shocked by the range of material wealth that many modern dragons possess.

Despina is immediately covetous. Wanting to be decked out in jewels of her own, she trades and barters and swindles her way into owning as many shining things as she can. They don't fit her, of course. Even outside of the Wyrmwound, her features don't settle down enough to be restricted by jewelry. But owning it pleases her nonetheless.

Petros helps her refine her tactics over time, steering her away from theivery and towards bartering, or at least gambling. They buy up what's scarce and sell when it's desired, and with this funding, they expand their wealth of trinkets.
